Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta according to package directions.

Ingredients
1 lb pasta (spaghetti or linguine)

Instructions
1/2 cup unsalted butter
Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
4 cloves garlic, minced
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Toss the drained pasta into the skillet with the garlic butter.
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if the pasta seems too dry.
Salt and black pepper to taste
Stir in the Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
